Unlocking Special LEAD Features
LEAD offers a variety of features, such as Document support, Medical support, Vector support, Plug-ins, and Modules, which are only available in certain toolkits, and are locked.
Examples of Locked Features:
ABC, ABIC, J2K, JBIG2, and NITF file format support
Barcode Support
Medical imaging, DICOM file format, and DICOM communications support
PDF, ICR, OCR, and OMR Document Imaging support
Vector file format support (such as DXF, DWF, DWG, PCT, PLT, DRW, DGN, WMF, EMF, GBR, and CGM)
To use locked features you must:
Purchase a toolkit that supports the desired feature(s).
Print the applicable runtime agreement from the help file. For information on the runtime agreements, go to Products and Licensing and click the LEAD Licensing button.
Complete the Transmittal document and fax it and the runtime agreement to LEAD's Licensing Department at 704-372-3789. (To get a copy of the Transmittal document, contact sales@leadtools.com.)
If prepaid licenses are desired, include the order form with payment information. You can fax this along with the Transmittal form and the runtime agreement. (To get a copy of the order form, contact sales@leadtools.com.)
Once we have received the signed agreement, we will send instructions for eliminating the license dialogs and the key(s) necessary for unlocking the appropriate features.
When you have received the instructions and the key(s) call the L_UnlockSupport or LSettings::UnlockSupport function with the appropriate key.
For example, for the LEADTOOLS Document Imaging toolkit:
Print the LEADTOOLS Standard End-User Software License Agreement (EULA).
Complete the Transmittal document and fax it and the LEADTOOLS Standard End-User Software License Agreement (EULA) to LEAD's Licensing Department at 704-372-3789.
If you want prepaid licenses, print a copy of the order form, fill it out and send the order form and payment information to LEAD.
Once we have received the signedLEADTOOLS Standard End-User Software License Agreement (EULA), we will send the instructions for eliminating the license dialogs and any necessary keys.
When you receive the instructions and the key(s), call L_UnlockSupport or LSettings::UnlockSupport (L_SUPPORT_DOCUMENT, <document key>) to unlock the Document features, where <document key> represents the actual alphanumeric key you receive from LEAD. If you also purchased the LEADTOOLS OCR Module, the OCR features will have to be unlocked separately, using the appropriate key.
To determine if a certain feature is locked:
Call L_IsSupportLocked or LSettings::IsSupportLocked.
Multimedia toolkits:
Call ILMDSKernel2::UnlockModule in DSKernel to unlock special features for MM toolkit (API or COM).
L_UnlockSupport and L_IsSupportLocked can be called by LEADTOOLS Raster customers to unlock the DVD Burner (Media Raster as it is called in the raster toolkit). But the DVD Burner can also be unlocked using ILMDSKernel2::UnlockModule.
