| Description: |
Use the Resize dialog to change image size (width
and height, in pixels) and resolution (dots per
inch). The resolution is used to determines the
size of a printed image. Changing the image size
means changing the pixel
dimensions of the image and resizing the image
to fit those new dimensions. Decreasing the image
size
will decrease the memory requirements and possibly
the file size of an image, but will also decrease
the
amount
of detail in the image.
Three methods for resizing the image are available: “Normal” (no
interpolation), “Resample” (bilinear
interpolation) and “Bicubic” (bicubic
interpolation).
Each method produces a resulting resized image
of different quality. Bicubic resizing produces
the
highest quality image, whereas normal resizing
is the fastest.
