LEADTOOLS functions in the Artistic category
Artistic filters allow you to add effects to your image that mimic an artistic look and feel, such as an oil painting, mosaic, or impressionist art drawn with colored pencils. You may also want your image to take on a more commercial look and this can be acheived by adding frames, colorful lights, a lens flare or by applying glowing or dry colors.
Functions Available in Artistic
- Mosaic
-
Imposes a mosaic effect on an image by dividing the image into tiles of a specified size and changing the color of all pixels in each tile to the average color of pixels within the tile.
- Add Border
-
Adds a border to the specified image.
- Colored Pencil
-
Applies an effect to an image that makes it look like it has been drawn with colored pencils
- Pointillist
-
Converts image colors into randomly placed dots to create a pointillist painting, and uses the background color to fill the area between dots.
- Impressionist
-
Makes an image looks like as if painted by an impressionist painter.
- Cubism
-
Remaps the image into a collection of rotated rectangles (cubic faces) so that it appears to have been created in the Cubist art style.
- Lens Flare
-
Simulates the secondary reflections caused when bright lights are facing the camera lens. The lens flare is refracted into a series of lightened circles that surround the flare center point.
- Glow Filter
-
Makes the colored edges shine with a neon glow.
- Light
-
Adds many spots of directed light sources to the image.
- Dry
-
This function simulates what would happen if the image had just been painted with paints and the paints were allowed to dry
- Draw Star
-
Draws a star on the image
- Add Frames
-
Adds a frame to the specified image.
- Oilify
-
Applies an oil-painting effect to the image.
- Bending
-
Warps the active image along a curved plane, centered on the pivot point.
- Bricks Texture
-
Adds a brick texture that makes the image look like it has been drawn on a brick wall
- Zoom Wave
-
Distorts the image with a wave zoomed from any specified point on the image.
- Ripple
-
Warps the image in concentric rings
- Aging
-
Adds old films distortions to the image
- Displace Map
-
Displaces image pixels horizontally and vertically according to the values of the displacement map image.
- Canvas
-
Combines two images, superimposing one image on another image that is used like a canvas.
- Clouds
-
Applies the cloud effect on the image by generating clouds according to a given seed value.
- Color Replace
-
Replace specified colors by adjusting new value of hue, saturation and brightness
- Colored Balls
-
This function adds colored balls to the image.
- Cylindrical
-
Warps the image around a cylinder.
- Dice Effect
-
Split the image into square or rectangular blocks and rotate each block by one of the following angles 0,90,180, and 270, or flip the blocks around the X-axis and Y-axis
- Diffuse Glow
-
Adds a colored glow to an image's light or dark areas, making these areas shine with a neon glow.
- Edges Detect Effect
-
Detects the edges in an image and their strength.
- Feather Alpha Blend
-
Combines image data from two images with feathering, by combining the two images with a variable opacity that depends on a fade mask.
- Fragment
-
Averages an image with its shifted copies
- Free Hand Shear
-
Shears the image by the wave drawn
- Free Hand Wave
-
Distorts the image by a free hand drawn wave in any specified direction
- Free Plane Bend
-
Wraps the image onto a 3D plane
- Free Radial Bend
-
Wraps the image along its radius on a 3D surface
- Functional Light
-
Lights the image according to a certain function-based distribution, hi-lighting, or darken some regions inside the image. You can also add some noise as lines or circles inside the image.
- Mosaic Tiles
-
Creates a mosaic effect on an image by dividing an image into rectangular or arc-shaped cells with irregular boundaries and modifying the color of each cell.
- Ocean
-
Reflects the image on an ocean surface.
- Perlin Noise
-
Uses a pseudo-random number generator in order to create a Perlin noise, and then procedurally transforms that noise into a texture.
- Perspective
-
Gives an image a 3-D effect, as if it exists on a flat plane and has been skewed into a different shape.
- Picturize
-
Replaces the current image with an image created using images present in the specified directory.
- Picturize List
-
Picturizes the specified image using other images.
- Picturize Single
-
Picturizes the specified image using another thumbnail image.
- Pixelate
-
Divides the image into rectangular or circular cells and then recreates the image by filling those cells with the minimum, maximum, or average pixel value, depending upon the effect that was selected.
- Plane
-
Places the image on parallel planes along the Z-axis
- Plane Bend
-
Places the image on parallel planes along the Z-axis bended toward the center point
- Plasma
-
Applies color patterns that blend into each other like plasma
- Punch
-
Warps the image by pinching it toward the center or expanding the image away from its center
- Puzzle Effect
-
Splits the image into square blocks and redistribute them randomly inside the image
- Radial Wave
-
Distorts an image by a radial wave radiating from any specified point on the image
- Rev Effect
-
Creates a pseudo 3D wave effect based on the brightness along each line
- Ring Effect
-
Divides the image into certain number of rings. Each ring is rotated according to a rotate angle.
- Roman Mosaic
-
Segments the image into rectangular or rounded rectangular tiles and fills them with a color chosen randomly from the colors of the tiles pixels.
- Spherize
-
Warps the image around a 3D spherical shape
- Swirl
-
Spins the image according to the rotation angle to produce a swirl pattern
- Texture Alpha Blend
-
Combines image data from two images with feathering and constant opacity.
- Tunnel
-
Places the image inside a tunnel along the Z-axis.

Creates thin lines, directed along certain angle, on the specified image.
- ZigZag
-
Radially distorts the image by creating waves that twist the image around a specified center.
- Zoom Blur
-
Blurs the image along radial lines starting from a specified center point.
- Radial Blur
-
Blurs the image by rotating the pixels around the specified center point
- Glass Effect
-
Divides the image into cells and makes it look as if it is being viewed through glass blocks
- Alpha Blend
-
Combines image data from two images, using the specified opacity value.
- Create Faded Mask

- Color Halftone
-
Converts a 1-, 4-, 8-, 16-, 24-, or 32-bit image to a halftoned image, with a specified pattern rotation. A halftoned image is a 1-bit image that has been dithered for black and white printing or display.
