LEADTOOLS functions in the Medical Image Processing category

LEADTOOLS provides an advanced set of functions that are especially designed for enhancing and analyzing medical images regardless of their format or data distribution. Enhance the image or highlight the details by shifting, selecting, subtracting, removing the background for better visuals or using the multi-scale enhancement technique. These functions can also analyze a specified area of the image based on its colors and connectivity to other similar regions for more accurate diagnostics.

Functions Available in Medical Image Processing

Set Kaufmann Region
Sets a Kaufmann region based on the color value at the specified point.
Multi Scale Enhancement
Enhance images' contrast, edges, and density range of Computed Radiography (CR), in a way that all relevant image features are rendered to an appropriate level of visibility.
Shift Data
Select a specified number of bits from an 8, 12 or 16-bit grayscale image into a mask and place the mask in a new 8-bit gray image
Select Data
Shows image variances depending on user-defined conditions
Subtract Background
Removes the background from an image
Convert Unsigned to Signed
Converts an unsigned image to signed.
Digital Subtract
Subtracts the live (destination) image from the mask (source) image to show the differences between the two images
Anti Alias
Applies an anti-aliasing filter to the specified image.
Get Min Max Bits
Returns the low and high bits of the values present in a 12 or 16-bit grayscale and 48 and 64-bit image.
Get Min Max Values
Returns the minimum and maximum intensity values present in a 12 or 16-bit grayscale and 48 and 64-bit image.
Slice
Extract individual slices from a radiographic scanned film.
Correlation
The correlation is a measure of association (resemblance) between two images to find those portions that match according to the measure of correlation
Correlation List
Compares the images in list with all the areas of the same dimensions in original image and finds those portions that match according to the measure of correlation.
Window Level Bitmap
Converts a 12 or 16-bit grayscale image to an 8-bit grayscale or a 24-bit RGB image.
Adaptive Contrast
Gives more contrast to regions of low contrast.
Histogram Contrast
Increases or decreases the contrast of the image using its histogram to determine the median brightness as opposed to using an arbitrary value of 128. This function finds the median brightness of the image, then brightens the pixels with values above the median and darkens the pixels with values below the median.
Gamma Correct
Adjusts the intensity of colors in an image by changing the gamma constant that is used to map the intensity values.
Change Contrast
Increases or decreases the contrast of the image.
Change Intensity
Changes the intensity (brightness) of the image.
Change Saturation
Increases or decreases the saturation of colors in an image.
Remap Intensity
Uses a lookup table to change an image's intensity values. You can apply the change to red, green, blue, or all color channels.
Auto Color Level
Applies one of several types of automatic color leveling to an image
Light Control
Controls the light levels of the image.
Balance Colors
Redistributes the RGB values of the specified image, using the values stored in the specified structures.
Change Hue
Changes the hue of colors in an image by rotating the color wheel a specified number of degrees.
Histogram Equalize
Linearizes the number of pixels and enhance the details in an image based on the specified (RGB, YUV, or GRAY) color space by redistributing the colors intensities according to its histogram data.
Change Hue Saturation Intensity
Change the hue, saturation and intensity for all or specified colors in the image
Color Level
Applies color leveling to an image. It changes the image shadows, midtones and highlights
Add Bitmaps
Adds or averages the images in a list.
Add Weighted Bitmaps
Adds or averages the images in a list according to their weight factors, this function minimizes the noise and improves night vision images
Gamma Correct Extended
Adjusts the intensity of colors in an image by changing the gamma constant that is used to map the intensity values. Either of two different color spaces can be specified.
Local Histogram Equalize
Linearizes the number of pixels locally in an image, based on the specified color space. This can be used to bring out the detail in dark areas of an image, and smooth the edges between blocks.
Remap Hue
Uses a lookup table to change an image's hue values.
Adjust Tint
Adjusts the image tint by changing the colors in an image by using two separate color wheel rotations.
Solarize
Applies an effect that mimics the accidental exposure of photographic film to light. It does so by inverting all color data with an intensity value greater than or equal to the threshold that you specify.
Brightness Contrast Intensity
Applies contrast, brightness and intensity adjustments to enhance the image tonal range
Median Filter
Changes the color of each pixel in an image to the median color of pixels in its neighborhood.
Gaussian Filter
Smoothes or blurs an image by applying a Gaussian filter to the specified image.
Smooth Edges
Smoothes the rough edges in the image
Unsharp Mask
Sharpens the specified image by applying the unsharp mask. Unsharpen mask tends to show more details in areas of an image that are normally not visible.
Binary Filter
This filter imposes a binary filter on an image. It performs a user defined effect by using suitable mask.
Dynamic Binary
Binarize an image by using a different threshold value for each pixel of the image
Intensity Detect
Intensity detection is used to threshold an image based on intensity. Thresholding can be helpful in measuring objects such as a tumor in an image.
Auto Binary Segment
Applies binary segmentation to the image using an automatically calculated threshold based on a two-peak method of statistical analysis of the histogram
Get Histogram
Show the color frequencies in the image.
Stretch Intensity
Enhances the image details by increasing the contrast (image levels) in an image by centering, maximizing, and proportioning the range of intensity values according to its histogram values. Unlike ordinary contrast, Stretch Intensity always retains the original number of different intensity values. (Ordinary contrast adjustments can lose values at the high and low ends of the scale.)
Combine
Combines image data from two images (source and destination), letting you specify the areas to be combined, the operations to be performed when combining the data, and which color planes (R or G or B or R, G, and B) are used.
Invert
Inverts the colors in the specified image, making it like a photographic negative.
Math Function
Re-mapping the image colors according to a mathematical function such as square, log, square root, sine and cosine.
Spatial Filter
Imposes a spatial filter on an image. You can supply your own filter or use one of the predefined filters.
User Filter
Apply filtering on the image based on specified user defined mask coefficients.
High Pass
Removes low frequency details in an image, resulting in a sharpened image.
Gray Scale
Converts any image to a gray scale image without changing its resolution.
Swap Colors
Swaps the specified color channels.
Magic Wand
Sets a region based on the color found at point x, y in the image
Edge Detector
Applies the specified edge filter to the specified image.
Edges Detect Effect
Detects the edges in an image and their strength.
Edge Detect Statistical

Get Ferets Diameter
In microscopy, Feret's diameter is the measured distance between parallel lines that are tangent to an object's profile and perpendicular to the ocular scale. Generally, Feret's diameter is the greatest distance possible between any two points along the
View Perspective
