LEADTOOLS functions in the Pattern Recognition category
These are samples of highly advanced pattern recognition functions, making use of new artificial intelligent projects algorithms developed by LEADTOOLS. These projects can be used in Medical documents and enhancement processing. For example, the detection and recognition of the registration marks will correct the document images, while extracting the individual slices from a radiographic scanned film will prepare these extracted medical images to be processed. Also LEADTOOLS provides general functions for image matching such as correlation and correlation list.
Functions Available in Pattern Recognition

Extract individual slices from a radiographic scanned film.
- Correlation

The correlation is a measure of association (resemblance) between two images to find those portions that match according to the measure of correlation
- Search Registration Marks

Searches the image for registration marks.
- Get Marks Center Mass

Finds center of mass points for the registration marks
- Get Transformation Parameters
-
Computes the rotation angle, XY scaling, and XY translation of the transformed image with comparison to the reference image
- Apply Transformation Parameters

Corrects the deformed image according to the transformation parameters values the returned from L_GetTransformationParameters
- Correlation List

Compares the images in list with all the areas of the same dimensions in original image and finds those portions that match according to the measure of correlation.
- Is Registration Mark

Apply Transformation Parameters - Corrects a deformed image according to the transformation parameters values the returned from the Get Transformation Parameters function.
Get Marks Center Mass - Finds center of mass points for the registration marks.
Get Transformation Parameters - Computes the rotation angle, XY scaling, and XY translation of the transformed image with comparison to the reference image.
Is Registration Mark - Check whether the object inside the image is a registration mark or not.
Search Registration Marks - Searches the image for registration marks.

- Edge Detector

Applies the specified edge filter to the specified image.
- Region Holes Removal

Removes all the holes in region. Makes the region contiguous.
- Segment

Divides image into segments where each segment's pixels have approximately the same color (homogenous color)
- Skeleton

Thinning objects/regions in an image
- Edges Detect Effect

Detects the edges in an image and their strength.
- Intensity Detect

Divides the image into binary segments according to specified thresholds.
- Deskew

Rotates the specified image to straighten it. This function typically is used to automatically straighten scanned images.
- Direction Edge Statistical

Detects the variation of colors in the specified direction using statistical indices
- Dynamic Binary

Binarize an image by using a different threshold value for each pixel of the image
- Edge Detect Statistical

Detects edges by examining the variation of colors in all directions using statistical indices.
- Contour Filter

Performs a contour segment filter on the source image.
- Auto Binary Segment

Applies binary segmentation to the image using an automatically calculated threshold based on a two-peak method of statistical analysis of the histogram
- Color Threshold

Threshold the image based on one of any eight color spaces
- Minimum Filter

Dilates dark objects by the specified amount.
- Maximum Filter

Erodes dark objects by the specified amount.
