LEADTOOLS functions in the Segmentation category

Segment, outline and convert the image objects to binary format based on its edge data, color data (using a wide range of different color spaces), statistical data or all. The segmentation filters can enhance the image by removing the background or any unwanted areas, removing the noise, reducing the colors and adjusting some image features in order to prepare for object detection. Some of the segmentation filters can also be used to produce a very nice artistic effect.

Functions Available in Segmentation

Edge Detector
Applies the specified edge filter to the specified image.
Intensity Detect
Divides the image into binary segments according to specified thresholds.
Edge Detect Statistical
Detects edges by examining the variation of colors in all directions using statistical indices.
Auto Binary Segment
Applies binary segmentation to the image using an automatically calculated threshold based on a two-peak method of statistical analysis of the histogram
Skeleton
Thinning objects/regions in an image
Segment
Divides image into segments where each segment's pixels have approximately the same color (homogenous color)
Direction Edge Statistical
Detects the variation of colors in the specified direction using statistical indices
Color Threshold
Threshold the image based on one of any eight color spaces
Edges Detect Effect
Detects the edges in an image and their strength.
Dynamic Binary
Binarize an image by using a different threshold value for each pixel of the image
Contour Filter
Performs a contour segment filter on the source image.
Subtract Background
Removes the background from an image
Posterize
Imposes a poster effect on an image by quantizing the image's colors to a specified number of color levels per plane. For example, two levels mean two of red, two of green, and two of blue.
Spatial Filter
Imposes a spatial filter on an image. You can supply your own filter or use one of the predefined filters.
Auto Trim
Trims the current image, removing blank space around the edges.
Bump Map
Gives an image the appearance of depth or substance texture by adding a three-dimensional texture pattern to the image.
Emboss
Applies an emboss effect to an image, letting you specify the depth and direction of the effect.
Local Histogram Equalize
Linearizes the number of pixels locally in an image, based on the specified color space. This can be used to bring out the detail in dark areas of an image, and smooth the edges between blocks.
Slice
Extract individual slices from a radiographic scanned film.
Correlation
The correlation is a measure of association (resemblance) between two images to find those portions that match according to the measure of correlation
Correlation List
Compares the images in list with all the areas of the same dimensions in original image and finds those portions that match according to the measure of correlation.
Emboss Extended
Applies various 3d effects to an image, such as Emboss, Edge Detection, Splotch, Emboss-Splotch filters.
Get Auto Trim Rectangle
Gets the rectangle that would be used to trim the image.
Glow Filter
Makes the colored edges shine with a neon glow.
User Filter
Apply filtering on the image based on specified user defined mask coefficients.
Binary Filter
This filter imposes a binary filter on an image. It performs a user defined effect by using suitable mask.
Change Hue
Changes the hue of colors in an image by rotating the color wheel a specified number of degrees.
Adjust Tint
Adjusts the image tint by changing the colors in an image by using two separate color wheel rotations.
Change Hue Saturation Intensity
Change the hue, saturation and intensity for all or specified colors in the image
