Raster Image File Formats: HDP

Microsoft HD Photo File Format (HDP)

The HD Photo file format is a raster file format developed by Microsoft and it is supported by Microsoft Photo Info application. This file format is mainly used for cross-platform image exchange, especially with handhelds, PDAs and limited-capability devices.

LEADTOOLS supports version 1.0 of this format.

This file format supports lossless as well as lossy compressions with a quality factor for the lossy compression, QFactor that ranges from 1 to 255.

This file format does not support progressive loads and saves or lossless JPEG compression.

The file format does not support multi-page files

For HDP files, LEADTOOLS can read and write 16-bit grayscale. (Document/Medical toolkits only).
