Internet Imaging

LEADTOOLS provides functionality for developing Internet/intranet applications. The .NET Class Library offers methods for loading images from files or streams, which allows images in any supported raster format to be read from any URL. The same functionality is available for loading LEADTOOLS annotation files.

The LEADTOOLS WebForms controls provide functionality to develop rich interactive AJAX-style web-based applications using ASP .NET. Features include:

• Based on ASP.NET 2.0 Client Callbacks Manager.
• A Web ImageViewer control for displaying an image on an ASP.NET 2.0 web form
• The ImageViewer is used to display any LEAD image file format by converting it to browser friendly format (JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP) on the fly.
• Includes an HTTP handler to serve non-browser supported formats.
• Large image support through tiling, by loading tiled sections of an image "On-Demand" when the relevant section of an image is zoomed into view, Tile width/height can be arbitrary changed.
• Includes an HTTP handler to get file information for files on the server or accessible via http.
• The ImageViewer control can automatically handle zooming and scrolling.
• Create AJAX-style Web applications that deal with huge images such as Geospatial imaging applications like Google™ Earth. Only the portions of the image required for display are downloaded and compressed.

LEADTOOLS includes support for Progressive JPEG , Progressive CMP , and interlaced GIF , so you can display images as they are downloaded. GIF support also includes transparency, animation, and embedded text. The GIF code has support for 1 through 8 bits per pixel files. A FeedLoad function is included to allow image data to be displayed as it is being transmitted across the net, providing Internet programmers with the fastest way to begin painting the client's screen. This functionality is included in the LEADTOOLS Raster Imaging Pro , Document Imaging products and Medical Imaging products . Additionally, HTTP and FTP libraries are included to help you send information and images from the client back to the server. An INET command library is included to create client server applications to control remote computers using remote procedure calls. Examples are included to assist you in incorporating images into Internet applications.

LEADTOOLS lets you do the following when working with the Internet:

• Use the FeedLoad and load from stream capabilities to load an image (stored in any of over 150 supported raster formats) asynchronously over the Internet.
• Use LEAD controls in an ASP.NET app to perform server side image processing.
• Use LEAD controls in an ASP.NET app to convert images from a non browser friendly format to a browser friendly one.
• Use LEAD controls in an ASP.NET app to get and put images into a database.
• Submit images and information from any application that to a web server via an HTTP Form.
• Upload images to an FTP server.
• Parse the images and data out of the posted request string.
• Use the LEAD controls on the client to perform any of the LEADTOOLS functionality.
• Control how data is fed to a load routine.
• Handle progressive reading and writing of JPEG and LEAD CMP files.
• Handle transparency, interlaced formatting, and text in GIF files.
• Create and maintain lists of bitmaps that are used for animation.
• Create and play animations, read and write animated GIF files, and read AVI files.
• Read and write most other image file formats that are transmitted on the Internet.
• Create client/server applications, including video conferencing programs.
