Image Format Support

Read, write and convert image files in over 150 of the most popular standard image formats, including JPEG, GIF, TIFF (including G3/G4, LZW, CMYK, JTIF, many more), PNG, BMP, MODCA/IOCA, PCX, TGA, and many more!

Compression

Compress images using a wide variety of compression algorithms, including JPEG, CMP, LZW, G3/G4, Huffman, run-length, and many more . LEAD offers comprehensive support for compression schemes found in standard raster file formats, as well as high-performance proprietary compression technologies that outperform the industry standards.

TWAIN Scanning Support

Control image acquisition from any device (scanner, digital camera, etc) which supports TWAIN. Use device's built in user-interface or create your own.

Image Display/Special Effects

Render images or selected regions to display device while controlling position/scaling, resample method (normal/bilinear/bicubic), brightness/contrast/gamma, color-reduction/dithering, image(source) and device(destination) clipping, and more. Navigate large images using a small pan-window†, browse a group of images using a thumbnail viewer†, apply 2000+ paint transitions and effects† between viewed images.

Image Processing

Use more than 200 digital filters and transforms to process images (or selected portions). Smooth, sharpen, edge detect/enhance, modify brightness/contrast/gamma, change hue and saturation, red-eye removal, unsharp mask, add noise, resize and rotate images using various resampling techniques (including bicubic), and much more.

Color Space Conversions

Convert between color modes, like 24-bit true-color, 8-bit indexed, 1-bit black/white, and many more. Changing the color mode changes the amount of data stored per pixel, which alters an image's memory/disk requirements.

Printing Support

Print images or selected regions while controlling position/scaling, halftoning/dithering. Print multiple images and text to a single or multiple pages.

Imaging Common Dialogs

Imaging Common Dialogs provide a set of common dialog boxes that combine Windows Common Dialog functionality with LEADTOOLS imaging functionality. Common dialogs are provided for every LEADTOOLS image processing functions plus FileOpen, FileSave, Color Resolution, Image Processing/Filtering, Effects and more. You can specify your own String and/or Text, as well as handle Language Customization – This is a great feature for globalizing your software.

Screen Capture

Powerful screen capture functionality that can capture resources from files, menus, windows, clients, areas of screen in different shapes, etc. The screen capture tools are extremely useful, especially for documentation and provide another means of image input.

Database Support

Store images (any supported file-format/compression-technique) to a variety of databases, including SQL, Oracle or any database which supports ODBC or OLE DB.

Internet

Includes functions to load images from URL's or memory streams. All LEADTOOLS products include ActiveX† controls and Pro products include COM objects that can be used to extend functionality on a server or in Internet Explorer.

Image Optimizer

(Included in Raster Pro and above) Optimize images for websites or applications by reducing colors and maximizing compression.

Web Forms

Includes a Web ImageViewer control for displaying an image on an ASP.NET 2.0 web form. The ImageViewer is used to display any image file format supported by web browsers (JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP) and can automatically handle zooming and scrolling. It includes an HTTP handler to serve non-browser supported formats and to get file information for files on the server or accessible via http.

Digital Paint

A must for anyone who wants to add digital painting functionality to their application. With LEADTOOLS' Digital Paint feature, a developer can create an entire image editing or design application, or simply add pieces of those types of functionality into an existing application.
