Perhaps you are using a previous version of LEADTOOLS and have updated to the latest only to find that certain RLE DICOM datasets that once loaded fine, now appear to load in Black and White. Or perhaps you are using LEADTOOLS for the first time and finding that your RLE compressed DICOM datasets appear to load as Black and White images.
This is caused by the compression in the file to be incorrect.
LEADTOOLS has accounted for this incorrect RLE compression. When using the DicomDataSet class you can now pass in a flag (DicomGetImageFlags.AutoDectectInvalidRleCompression) to the GetImage function (or GetImages function.)
This tells our tools to check the file to determine if it was compressed incorrectly, and if so, decompress the file so that the image data is preserved.
I have attached a project that allows you to load a DICOM Dataset and extract the first page with and without the flag enabled.
The C# project was created in Visual Studio 2008 x86.
