Overview

Refer to Managing Color Separations.

Remarks

Separates the bitmap by color plane to produce one grayscale bitmap per plane. You can specify any of several color-space models.

The supported color-space models are RGB, CMYK, CMY, HSV, and HLS.

You can use the ColorPlanes property to access the grayscale bitmaps.

This method supports 12 and 16-bit grayscale images and 48 and 64-bit color images. Support for 12 and 16-bit grayscale images and 48 and 64-bit color images is available only in the Document/Medical toolkits.

If the bitmap is 48 or 64 bits bitmap then the created bitmaps are 16 bits grayscale bitmaps otherwise the created bitmaps are 8 bits grayscale bitmap.

This method does not support signed data images. It returns the error code ERROR_SIGNED_DATA_NOT_SUPPORTED if a signed data image is passed to this method.
