About This Manual

Key Features of LEADTOOLS Document Imaging is organized to reflect an idealized Document Imaging Workflow. It begins with brief descriptions of LEADTOOLS Document Imaging SDKs and Add-On products, followed by pointers to installation directories and feature unlocking requirements.

This manual is intended to get you up and working quickly and efficiently, by providing a handy reference to the wealth of LEADTOOLS demonstration programs, tutorials, code examples, and programming references that are included with your LEADTOOLS Document Imaging product. It is intended to help you quickly drill down into the detailed references that were installed with your toolkit.

Getting Started Tables

Comprehensive Getting Started Tables are included in the Getting Started with LEADTOOLS (Mapping.chm) help file:

Getting Started tables summarize the components, plug-ins, add-ons, and related LEAD products used in each workflow step. The summaries include pointers to:

§ installed dlls,

§ libraries,

§ header files,

§ help files, and

§ demonstration programs.

Overviews and Key Feature Summaries

For each component topic, a brief overview precedes a bulleted listing of key features and capabilities.

Function References and Code Examples

For each component topic, Function Group rollups follow the key feature list. These provide links to each complete function reference. Each function reference includes code snippets and examples that you can copy and/or modify for use in your applications.

Tutorials

For each component topic, tutorials show you how to create and run a program that implements LEADTOOLS Document Imaging features. The purpose of each tutorial is to provide you a quick and easy way to generate a Document Imaging program.

For more in depth programming, refer to the appropriate demonstration programs, listed in the Getting Started Tables. Demonstration programs allow you to view and manipulate component features. For detailed programming instructions, refer to the “Getting Started” and “Programming with…” topics in the appropriate listed help file.
