The LEADTOOLS ICR module can convert handwritten text and numbers into machine-readable strings and documents. For example, an application using the LEADTOOLS ICR module can convert handwritten reports into PDF* or Word .doc files. The LEADTOOLS ICR Module can be used on the same image as the OCR module. The LEADTOOLS ICR module supports hand written text in nearly languages, including 15 with dictionary support. Dictionary support improves recognition results by enabling addition of specialized words, not in normal communication, that are common in the documents being processed.
ICR features are included as an add-on module to extend the functionality of the LEADTOOLS Document Imaging Suite and the LEADTOOLS OCR Module. The LEADTOOLS ICR Module requires runtime licensing based on the deployment of the application you develop. Several purchase options are available. For more information, please contact oemsales@leadtools.com or call a LEAD sales representative.
LEADTOOLS ICR features are implemented using two engines:
HNR
The hand-printed numeral recognition engine is designed for speed and accuracy, using a reduced character set. Typical recognition time is 280-310 characters per second (Measured on a computer with 1500 MHz Pentium processor / 256 MB RAM running Windows 2000.) It recognizes the following:
§ ldigits (0-9)
§ lplus sign (+)
§ lminus sign (-)
§ lperiod or full-stop (.)
§ lcomma (,)
RER
The reRecognition alphanumeric hand-print recognition engine recognizes upper and lower case text, numbers and symbols. Typical recognition time is 150-220 characters per second (Measured on a computer with 1500 MHz Pentium processor / 256 MB RAM running Windows 2000.)
