Introduction to the LEADTOOLS DVD Module

The name for a group of related video files (called "Chapters") on your DVD. For example, for a DVD called "My Summer Vacation," you might have the titles "Water Skiing," "New Friends," and "Hiking." For each of those titles, you might have one or more different video files.

The name for each individual video file on a DVD. For example, under the title "Water Skiing", you might have the chapters "My first try," "My first wreck," and "My first jump."

An ISO image (.iso) is a disk image of a file system. It includes data files that are contained in the ISO image along with filesystem metadata. ISO images are an alternative to physical media for distribution of a "DVD" over the Internet. Most operating systems allow ISO images images to be "played" as if they were physical discs. The LEADTOOLS DVD Module enhances the LEADTOOLS Multimedia toolkit by adding functionality for programmatically creating, burning, and playing DVD images. The LEADTOOLS DVD Module has everything you need to create and burn DVD images, including DVD Imager interface, DVD burner The driver that writes the data (burns the data) to the DVD. The LEADTOOLS DVD Module adds on to the LEADTOOLS Multimedia SDK and includes a fully enabled development license for the following components:

You can develop and perform testing with the development only editions of the components, codecs and filters contained in this product. Development only editions of the codecs display either "LEAD Encoder” or “LEAD Decoder” in the video stream The portion of the file holding the video data. The video data might be compressed to save disk space. The data has to be decompressed using a video decompressor before you can play (see) it.. Development only editions of the filters and components display a licensing dialog from time to time while the program is running. The development only editions do not expire but may not be used in a production environment under your license.

In order to deploy the DVD Module specialized components, you must sign the duplication and distribution license for LEADTOOLS DVD Module and return it to LEAD. You will be provided with unlock instructions to the release versions of any of these filters or codecs which you wish to license when you have signed the appropriate duplication and distribution license. These release editions will not display a licensing dialog box or LEAD text on the video stream.
