Filters And Codecs Requiring Runtime Licensing

The filters and codecs listed on this page require runtime licenses. You may not deploy or distribute your end user application with any of these filters or codecs unless you first enter into a duplication and distribution agreement. Evaluation versions of these filters and codecs are included with the LEADTOOLS Multimedia setup and will generate an evaluation notice when used and/or will expire after a period of time.

If you are interested getting the licensed version of any of these filters or codecs, you should print and sign the Duplication and Distribution Agreement and fax the agreement to 704-372-3789. Once the agreement has been executed and returned to LEAD, LEAD’s support department will provide you with the release version of the individual codec A COmpressor Also known as an encoder, this is a module or algorithm to compress data. Playing that data back requires a decompressor, or decoder. combined with a DECompressor, or encoder and a decoder, which allows you to both compress and decompress that same data.(s)/filter(s) you wish to license. The license to use LEADTOOLS Multimedia without any of the filters and filters listed below is governed by the LEADTOOLS License Agreement and does not require runtime licensing. The LEADTOOLS License Agreement can be found in the LEADTOOLS Multimedia Help File under the topic "LEAD Licensing".

• LEAD AC3 The LEAD AC3 Audio Codec is a DirectShow filter that supports the encoding of audio streams using the AC3 standard. The LEAD AC3 encoder provides options to control the quality and the number of output channels. AC3 is a 5.1 format, which means that it provides five full bandwidth channels: front left, front right, center, surround left, and surround right. A low-frequency effect (LFE) channels is included for the sound needed for special effects and action sequences in movies.
