NAPLPS Format (NAP)
LEADTOOLS reads only NAPLPS files.
NAPLPS (North American Presentation Layer Protocol Syntax) is a vector file format. It is a protocol for transferring ASCII-based graphical information to remote terminals via a communications channel (such as telephone systems and computer networks). It was specifically designed to provide usable information at low transfer rates. NAPLPS was used by Videotext services, commercial on-line information services (for example, Prodigy), and in standalone information kiosk systems.
NAPLPS pictures are transferred in alpha geometric data instead of bitmap images. This means that text is transferred as character codes, while geometric figures (dot, line, circle, etc.) are transferred as functional commands.
The default extension is: .nap.
This file format is supported by CorelDraw.
LEAD supports version 1 of this format.
This file format does support layers and grouping of objects.
