Additional Medical Imaging Features

The LEADTOOLS Medical Imaging toolkit provides extended support and additional Image Display and Image Processing features that are not found in the LEADTOOLS Imaging Pro and Document Imaging toolkits. This additional support includes:

Hardware Support: Support for the largest set of hardware manufacturers in the industry.
High-Level Tools:

Cookie cutter tool: Extract individual slices from a radiographic scanned film (useful for identifying each slice inside a scanned MRI or CT series).
MRI Brain Analysis Tool: Used to calculate the ratio between the corpus callosum (white matter in the middle of the brain) and the brain sphere.
Medical Image Viewer Control: a medical image display container for building medical display applications such as DICOM viewers, view stations, teleradiology solutions, and high-end diagnostic workstations found in radiology and other medical specialty departments. Dramatically reduces development time.

DICOM-specific annotations such as point, polyline, anchor text and curve.
Extended TWAIN scanning (16-bit grayscale and up to 48-bit color).
Over 100 medical image processing functions that support extended grayscale data (12–16 bit signed and unsigned), optimized to meet the specific demands of the medical imaging market. Highlights include:

Converting signed images to unsigned images.
Converting unsigned images to signed images.
Embedded Image Overlays.
Statistical information for a region or bitmap.
Auto-detection of the minimum and maximum intensity, and low and high bits used in the image data.
Painting 10–16-bit images using Bilinear or Bi-cubic resizing on-the-fly.
On-the-fly re-mapping of 10–16-bit grayscale images to Windows display devices, using a LUT with pseudo-color support.

12- and 16-bit grayscale image processing and display with LUT and window leveling.
Remap 12–16-bit grayscale image data using a user-defined lookup table.
Conversion of 12- to 16- bit grayscale images to 8- or 24-bit.
Shift bit range in extended grayscale data.
16-bit Grayscale histograms.

Creating or loading 12- and 16-bit grayscale and 48- and 64-bit color images from raw data from disk, memory, or file offset.
8–16 bit grayscale lossy and lossless JPEG and JPEG2000 compression, including signed image data.
Importing/exporting TIFF files to/from 10-,12-, 16-, and 32-bit grayscale, and 48- and 64-bit color .
