The document format requested.

The GetFormatFileExtension Method is available as an add-on to the LEADTOOLS Document and Medical Imaging toolkits.

format
The document format requested.
Gets the default file extension for the specified document format.

Parameters

format
The document format requested.

Return Value

A System.String containing the file extension for the specified format (without the ".").

Example

For an example, refer to DocumentWriter.

Remarks

This method will return the default file extension commonly used with file of types format. For example, Adobe PDF files commonly have "pdf" extensions, Microsoft Word 2003 documents commonly have "doc" extensions and so forth.

To get a friendly name for a particular document format use GetFormatFriendlyName.
