LEADTOOLS supports reading the following Microsoft Excel worksheet formats:
XLS (97-2003)
The XLS file extension is used for Microsoft Excel worksheets. Excel is a popular spreadsheet program used with data like numbers, formulas, text, and drawing shapes. LEADTOOLS supports loading XLS (97-2003) files through the XLS filter.
MS-Excel (XLS) file format has the following features:

Supports loading files with different page width and height
Supports loading Excel sheets with different rasterization options: Best Fit or Multi-page.

XLSX (2007)
The XLSX file extension is associated with Microsoft Excel 2007, one of the most popular and powerful tool you can use to create format spreadsheets, graphs and much more. The .xlsx files are used in Microsoft Excel 2007 for Workbooks, spreadsheet document files. They serve the same purpose as the .xls Microsoft Excel 97 to 2003 Workbook files, but use the new file extensions and file formats for Excel Spreadsheets based on Open XML data format. The .xlsx files use ZIP compression for smaller file sizes. LEADTOOLS supports loading XLSX (2007) files through XLSX filter. The default extension used by this format is: XLSX.
This file format does not support QFactor, progressive loading, stamps, Lossless JPEG compression or Sub-formats.
LEAD supports loading multi-page files in this format.
