LEAD H.263 Video Codec A COmpressor combined with a DECompressor, or encoder and a decoder, which allows you to both compress and decompress that same data.COmpressor Also known as an encoder, this is a module or algorithm to compress data. Playing that data back requires a decompressor, or decoder. combined with a DECompressor, or encoder and a decoder, which allows you to both compress and decompress that same data. Module
H.263 is an ITU standard, designed for low bit rate communications such as video-conferencing and video-telephony applications. At the same time it can be used for a wide range of bit rates and not just low bit rates. H.263 is a hybrid of interframe compression that makes use of temporal redundancy and intraframe transform coding to use spatial redundancy as a compression advantage. Accordingly, a superior compression ratio can be achieved in comparison to other video codecs.
The LEAD H.263 codec is a high quality lossy interframe DirectShow Ò and Video for Windows (VfW) codec with a quality and compression ratio comparable to MPEG-4. It can be used for a range of applications including video-conferencing, Internet video or surveillance and monitoring. The LEAD H.263 codec is suitable for videos captured from cameras as well as video screen captures. This video codec registers into the Windows® collection of multimedia drivers and integrates with any application using DirectShow and Microsoft Video for Windows®. Existing video software, such as Windows® Media Player® and Ulead Media Studio® can utilize this codec to play, create, convert and edit.
The LEAD H.263 Video Codec Module contains DirectShow Ò filters and codecs that allows an H.263 file to be played, or files with other file formats to be converted to H.263 files.
Key features of the LEAD H.263 Video Codec:
Interframe compression comparable to MPEG-4.
Rate control algorithm based on the TMN8 which is suitable for videophone applications.
The encoder accepts RGB24 and RGB32 formats.
Decoder can produce RGB24, RGB32 YUY2, RGB555 and RGB565 formats.
Encoder and Decoder implement all elements and functionality of ITU-T H.263+, plus:
Deblocking Filter Mode (Annex J).
Unrestricted Motion Vector (Annex D).
Advanced Intra Coding Mode (Annex I)
Advanced Prediction Mode (Annex F)
Modified Quantization Mode (Annex T)
Alternative Inter VLC Mode (Annex S)
Supports any video dimension.
Employs half pixel precision for motion compensation.
Unrestricted motion vectors.
Support for the Baseline Profiles (Profile 0) and (Profile 2).
Support for Level 10, Level 20, Level 30, Level 40, Level 45, Level 50, Level 60 and Level 70.
