LEADTOOLS Recognition SDK is a handpicked collection of other LEADTOOLS SDK's designed to help systems developers build end-to-end document applications for capturing, classification, forms processing, archiving and viewing as part of an enterprise level document automation solution. This powerful set of tools harnesses LEAD's industry LEADing image processing technology to intelligently identify document components and features that can be used to recognize and classify any type of digital form including scanned and faxed images.
The provided Recognition and Processing engines allow developers to fully automate document classification and data extraction for known forms. The Recognition engine creates unique XML data for each known form which is used to identify any form requiring recognition. The Processing engine uses templates, allowing users to define a specific set of fields (along with each field’s type) for each known form. These fields can be defined using the Forms application shipped with the SDK, or developers can create their own template editor using the toolkit. Supported field types include machine and hand written characters, check boxes, filled bubbles, cross marks, barcodes, and more. Support for each type of field requires a corresponding LEADTOOLS OCR, ICR, OMR, or Barcode Module.
In addition to saving the recognized data in various structured output such as delimited text, XML or database fields, the recognized free form document can be converted to searchable PDF to archive for enterprise data mining. For maximum storage efficiency, LEADTOOLS also provides several raster base archival options including PDF MRC, a format designed specifically for images with both color and text areas.
To further enhance the accuracy of the recognition process, this SDK includes LEADTOOLS Document clean-up engine, a set of document image pre-processing tools for deskew and despeckle, as well as line, border and hole-punch removal. For maximum performance, the high level interface also utilizes an intelligent multithreaded algorithm during recognition and processing. With emphasis on thread safety, LEADTOOLS SDK is optimized for enterprise level, service oriented application development. This makes our SDK's an excellent candidate for web hosted and workflow driven application frameworks including WCF and Windows Workflow.
