C Syntax |
HRESULT IltmmPlay_put_Rate(pPlay, newVal) |
C++ Syntax |
HRESULT put_Rate(newVal) |
IltmmPlay *pPlay; |
/* pointer to an interface */ |
double newVal; |
/* new playback rate */ |
Assigns the media playback rate.
Parameter |
Description |
pPlay |
Pointer to an IltmmPlay interface. |
newVal |
Playback rate. Must not be zero. |
Returns
S_OK |
The function was successful. |
<> S_OK |
An error occurred. Refer to the Error Codes or the HRESULT error codes in the DirectShow documentation. |
Comments
The playback rate is expressed as a ratio of the normal speed. Thus, 1.0 is normal playback speed, 0.5 is half speed, and 2.0 are twice speed. For audio streams, changing the rate also changes the pitch.
Negative playback rates are supported only for MP4/ISO files. A negative playback rate plays the file backwards but the playback is video-only and only the key frames are displayed.
