The ruler annotation object (
AnnRulerObject) is a simple line with gauges on both ends for measuring distance. With the automated functions, the ruler is started on a mouse-down event and completed on a mouse-up event.
In the automation mode, it is possible to calibrate a ruler so it displays a specific length. For more information, refer to

Programmatically, the boundaries and location of the ruler object can be controlled using the following properties:

AnnRulerObject class implements the IAnnRulerObject interface. This interface provides a number of ruler properties that control certain aspects of the rulers themselves and indicate which characteristics will be displayed on the ruler. These properties are listed below:
An object can be part of a group annotation object or part of a container object. It cannot be part of both a group and a container at the same time. The
Container property and the
Group property, both inherited from the
AnnObject class, contain information on the container or the group to which the object belongs.
