Intelligent capture can refer to a couple different ways of capturing data from images or documents. In this post, I'll be talking about how you can intelligently capture barcodes from scanned in files. The LEADTOOLS TWAIN SDK and Barcode SDK are libraries that developers can easily use to create applications for scanning in physical documents while capturing and extracting any barcode data found.

What it Does

This project will perform various image cleanup functions until a barcode is recognized using LEADTOOLS Version 19. To run the project, extract it to the C:\LEADTOOLS 19\Examples\DotNet\CS directory.

If you’ve renewed your driver’s license any time in the last few years, you have likely noticed an increase in its visual complexity. Many governing bodies have made significant strides towards making forgery more difficult. The unfortunate side-effect from that positive change is that traditional recognition algorithms are more difficult with the many colors, backgrounds, holograms, and layouts.

LEADTOOLS latest release included the introduction of the Xamarin Camera Control. This control eliminates the need to write native iOS or Android camera code. Developers can now engineer the camera control into their Xamarin.Forms application with one line of code.

Our newest article on Code Project is a tutorial on how to extract data from barcodes from images that have been taken using the Xamarin Camera Control. This example is great for developers who have been using the native iOS/Android code to access the devices camera to recognize barcodes.

Since releasing LEADTOOLS Cloud Services only a few months ago, we have seen a lot of usage from customers as well as some feedback. It's a product we look forward to supporting and improving by making additional LEADTOOLS imaging functionality available in an easy-to-consume Web API. Today marks the first update to LEADTOOLS Cloud Services and are happy to announce a new method endpoint for the service: ConvertBarcodeSplit.
