LEADTOOLS Support recently had a case where a customer was using an old AS/400 machine, a dot matrix printer that is often used with COBOL or Fortran to print results. The issue they faced was that while normal standard letter paper is 8.5” x 11”, this machine printed paper at 15” x 12”.

While working on a web application that accepts file uploads as an input, I found myself working pretty extensively with many different MIME types. Also known as Media types, a MIME type is a two part identifier that simply indicates the nature and format of a document, file, or assortment of bytes. While trying to make the web app secure, I started using the MIME type to verify that the file being uploaded was safe and able to be processed.

Our support team recently worked with a customer who was having issues loading and displaying a 200-page TIFF file. Because each page of the TIFF was stored as a separate file, the size of the document was very large and it was taking too long for each page to display in the viewer. LEAD to the rescue! Using the LEADTOOLS Document Web Viewer and this simple code below, you can easily load various files into a single TIFF and the viewer takes care of rendering all of them in no time.
