New White Paper: DICOM Media Creation Management Solutions with LEADTOOLS

Posted on 2014-05-27 15:32:07 by Greg

If you've ever had an MRI, CT or large number of X-rays during a medical visit, chances are you hoped to get a copy of your images to show your family, friends or another doctor. Not too many years ago you might get lucky and take home a huge film sheet to hold up against a bright light. Thankfully, today's digital world has made it more practical by storing your study on a CD or DVD with an embedded viewing application. If this service is available, some hospitals may hand them out as common practice while others may only provide it upon request.

Unfortunately this capability is not as common as you would think. Unbeknownst to many in the medical imaging sector are the numerous benefits that go beyond the basic take-home copy for patients. Check out our latest white paper which helps explain what DICOM Media Creation Management is and does, and how LEADTOOLS can help you along the way.

Posted on 2014-03-03 13:14:39 by Greg

This month's white paper is an extremely practical one. In fact, we even had a few conversations with customers at last week's HIMSS conference about this very subject. Document archival has been around for quite a while now, but as archives grow and systems become more spread out and the client device ecosystem is much more diverse, standardizing your document archival system is becoming critical.

If you have need for end-to-end PDF and PDF/A functionality including OCR, Virtual Printing, HTML5 viewing and more, you will benefit greatly from our March white paper!

Posted on 2014-01-16 13:23:58 by Greg

Our latest white paper contains a wealth of information on selecting the right barcode for your application. There are an abundance of barcode types and sub-types, so choosing correctly from the outset can have a profound impact on your application's entire development life cycle. Common problems could be using a barcode that doesn't hold enough information, is too rigid for evolutions in your application, takes up too much physical space, fails to read when damaged, and so on.

After an introduction into different types of barcodes and their uses, this white paper then helps navigate implementing them into your application. Not all barcode SDKs are created equal, and we dive into the many advantages — both for the developer and eventual end-user — of trusting LEADTOOLS in your application. We hope you enjoy the read!

New White Paper: Improving Forms Recognition Results with Automated Alignment

Posted on 2013-11-01 08:18:48 by Greg

Forms recognition is a common requirement for document imaging projects. Therefore it is no surprise that there are many companies and services that provide a solution for it. With that in mind, what sets LEADTOOLS apart? Forms alignment is one of the key features that catapults LEADTOOLS Forms Recognition above other products because it offers the best accuracy across the widest gamut of devices and documents.

We have had a number of customers approach us with documents that, to the human eye, appeared to be clean and properly scanned. However, the results still failed to return accurate results. In some cases, the exact same piece of paper would produce offbeat results when using different scanners. In the following white paper we will explain several alignment problems which LEADTOOLS can automatically correct and produce better accuracy than the competition. New White Paper: Using LEADTOOLS PDF File Features to Enhance Google Drive Search

Posted on 2013-10-01 12:45:31 by Greg

In one of our first white papers, we wrote about how to use LEADTOOLS OCR to modify and improve your Google Drive search. Today we're publishing part two of that series and showing how to use the LEADTOOLS PDF SDK to improve Google Drive in a similar fashion.

The problem this white paper addresses is that Google Drive's search features do not look at the keywords metadata within PDF files. Many people use these keywords as an important way to catalog and keep track of their documents, so the usefulness of that information gets lost once synced into your Google Drive.
