As we continue down the road from our recent LEADTOOLS Version 19 April Update, we are particularly excited about the enhancement we're going into more detail about today. As you might see from the title, our engineers were able to speed up the HTML5/JavaScript Medical Viewer.

No, this isn't one of those "it's faster" kind of announcements because we tested it on a new server or installed Google Fiber (technically, that's still under construction but we're kind of excited about that here in Charlotte, NC...back to my point!!!). This is a really big deal, and are talking about improvements of up to 5 - 12 times faster loading speeds! This update loads DICOM images over the web at nearly the same speed as a desktop application.

When LEAD Technologies set out to create its HTML5 SDK, we wanted to do it right by making LEADTOOLS the fastest and most interactive toolkit available. Thanks to our many customers investing in and developing with this technology, we take that as a vote of confidence that we have succeeded in attaining that goal.

There are many ways to design a zero footprint application, and unfortunately the performance and quality often suffer due to many applications simply pushing all of the image processing to a server. LEADTOOLS received several updates to its document and medical imaging toolkits today. Most notably, the LEADTOOLS HTML5/JavaScript Document Viewer now has the ability to run within even the most restricted environments without compromising security. Several under-the-hood updates including logging, diskless caching, configuration settings, and the like all contribute to create a lightweight, web-based viewer that can be hosted on both Windows and Linux servers, as well as third-party cloud hosting services such as Microsoft Azure.

Overall, the toolkit is faster and more efficient, and major areas of focus in this release were the Recognition Engines, Document Viewer, Document Formats, Medical Web Viewer, and Hanging Protocols.
