LEAD Technologies is pleased to announce the release of LEADTOOLS ePrint 6! If you're a regular reader of this blog and/or a LEADTOOLS user, you may be asking yourself, "What is ePrint"? That is understandable if you are only familiar with our flagship imaging SDK product, LEADTOOLS. However, LEAD Technologies actually owns and operates several divisions and subsidiaries which utilize LEADTOOLS within their respective end-user products and utilities. Among those products, LEADTOOLS ePrint is one of the longest running and most successful software applications LEAD has published.

With that mini history lesson out of the way, here is what's new in LEADTOOLS ePrint. Version 6 builds upon and enhances its famous print-to-file conversion of over 150+ formats, Advanced PDF features, Task Printers, Workstation Application and more by upgrading ePrint to use the latest technology from LEADTOOLS Version 18. On top of the across-the-board improvements to ePrint's core functionality, it now comes with support for Optical Character Recognition through LEAD's internally developed Advantage OCR Engine

A few days ago, we announced the latest major update to LEADTOOLS Version 19 and listed the updates made to the Document Imaging Engine. Today we're continuing in the excitement of this release and highlighting what's new in the LEADTOOLS Medical Imaging Engine.

Today, LEADTOOLS released an update to its Multimedia SDKs that enhances support for several formats and streaming capabilities. These improvements are all geared towards extending our support for various technologies as they emerge on the market, and in speeding up the overall process of streaming audio and video data to clients.

• Added support for h.265 and h.264 hardware encoders to MP4 and MKV outputs
• Added support for MP3 audio to MP4 and MKV outputs
• Added support for MPEG-2 audio encoder to MKV output
• Improved capture device support
• Added the ability to use Microsoft RTSP media source using windows media extensions, with implementation of network source authentication interfaces

This update is freely available to any existing LEADTOOLS Version 20 customers and is included in the latest Multimedia SDK download.

LEADTOOLS now has a completely new way to add its world-leading OCR, barcode, MICR, and document conversion into your app. Introducing LEADTOOLS Cloud Services, a high-powered, scalable, and lightweight Web API for adding advanced LEADTOOLS recognition and document conversion technologies into their applications.

As cloud hosting services like Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, and Google Cloud gain popularity, applications can be developed in new and exciting ways. LEADTOOLS Cloud Services dives into the hosted cloud processing world by providing its most popular technologies via a consumption-based pricing model. This new product is a programmer-friendly addition to any desktop, mobile, or web application with an Internet connection. This opens the door to many popular languages such as PHP, Python, and Perl, in addition to C# and JavaScript, which LEADTOOLS already supports in its existing SDK product line.

LEADTOOLS received several updates to its document and medical imaging toolkits today. Most notably, the LEADTOOLS HTML5/JavaScript Document Viewer now has the ability to run within even the most restricted environments without compromising security. Several under-the-hood updates including logging, diskless caching, configuration settings, and the like all contribute to create a lightweight, web-based viewer that can be hosted on both Windows and Linux servers, as well as third-party cloud hosting services such as Microsoft Azure.
