The Rich Text annotation object (AnnRichTextObject) is a rectangle containing text that supports the Rich Text Format (RTF) file format.
In design mode, click and drag to specify the rectangle in the current container. Holding down the Shift key while drawing the rectangle will make the text annotation square. A dialog box then lets the user enter the text. A menu also appears for further formatting of text. Formatting support includes:
- Font
- Font size
- Bold
- Italic
- Underline
- Foreground Color
- Background Color
- Bullets
- Numbering
- Indenting
- Alignment

An object can be part of a group annotation object or part of a container object. It cannot be part of both a group and a container at the same time.
