The ruler annotation object (AnnRulerObject) is a simple line with gauges on both ends for measuring distance. With the automated functions, the ruler is started on a mouse-down event and completed on a mouse-up event.

An object can be part of a group annotation object or part of a container object. It cannot be part of both a group and a container at the same time.
