Limitations with Visual Basic

Installations created with the Visual Basic 4.0 Setup Toolkit sometimes fail because of incompatible versions of the Olepro32.dll and Oleaut32.dll files. This is a known problem in Visual Basic, and a resolution of the problem is described in article Q162518 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

In an MDI application, Visual Basic 4.0 sometimes fails to update the palette on a child window when painting a 256-color image. This is a known bug in Visual Basic, and it is described in article Q149233 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base. The workaround recommended in the Knowledge Base article has been unreliable in testing performed by LEAD Technologies.
