JPEG2000 is a multi-resolution file. The number of resolutions is set when the file is saved. Most files are saved with at least five resolutions. The first resolution (highest resolution) represents the full image size, the size of the second will be half of the dimensions of the first (half of the width and half of the height), the size of the third will be a quarter the dimensions of the first, and so on. For a file with five resolutions, it is necessary to zoom in five times in order to get to the full resolution.
