The bits per pixel of the affected image will change according to the value of Type property, or the type parameter of the constructor as follows:

Thin | 8 bits per pixel grayscale |
LinkBlackWhite | 1 bit per pixel |
LinkGray | 8 bits per pixel grayscale |
LinkColor | 8 bits per pixel color |
ApproxColor | 8 bits per pixel color |
This command supports 12 and 16-bit grayscale and 48 and 64-bit color images. Support for 12 and 16-bit grayscale and 48 and 64-bit color images is available only in the Document/Medical toolkits.
