Why can't I use the same camera with 2 LEAD CaptureCtrl objects?

LEADTOOLS allows you to create multiple Capture controls in the same application or even place them on the same form and do simultaneous captures. However, you will most likely have to select a different capture device in each control and you should not expect to be able to capture from the same camera or capture input using 2 or more controls at the same time.

The reason for that is that most DirectShow capture drivers will only allow one instance of the capture video source to be accessed at any given time. This is not a LEADTOOLS limitation but depends entirely on whether the capture driver allows that or not.
