Hi - Is there a Method/Class of the File Extensions for each Supported Format?

When Saving an Image in a different format then what was read, I would like to include the file extenstion onto the filename based on the format the user selected.  Example user openned an Sample.tif and does a save as with the file name of Sample BUT with a file format of "Lead PDF MRC - Lead PDF with Mixed Raster Content".   What extenstion do I add ontothe filename?

Thanks!

The extension you use when saving a file does not depend on the compression inside the file.  For instance a TIFF file can be saved using JPEG, CCITT Group 4, JBIG, JBIG2, etc compressions.  However it is still a TIFF wrapper around the compressed image, so you use the extension *.tif.

The same is true for PDF.  The image inside is MRC compressed, but the wrapper around the image is PDF.  So you use the *.pdf extension
