I have 24 bit RGB images that I want to compress in a totally lossless format. What have users found to be the best / fastest format ?

Thanks in advance

My opinion is that PNG is best because it's widely supported and it was designed to be lossless.  JPEG has a lossless option but not many viewers/apps support it.
