Sets the maximum message length that can be processed (sent and received) by the current entity. This function is available in the PACS Imaging toolkits.

The maximum message length to set.
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
| DICOM_SUCCESS | Success. The maximum message length was set using the nMsgLength parameter. |
| DICOM_ERROR_PARAMETER | An error occurred. This usually occurs if the nMsgLength was smaller than 136. (136 bytes is the maximum size of data in mutual authentication request packet.) |
