Unlocking Special LEAD Features

LEADTOOLS Media Foundation offers a variety of features, such as playback, capture, and convert, as well as various transforms, codecs that are locked.

Note

As of v21 the LEADTOOLS Multimedia toolkit has been updated to use a seamless license mechanism and any new development must use it. The new licensing mechanism uses L_SetLicenseFile and L_SetLicenseBuffer. For a step-by-step tutorial on a C DLL platform, refer to Add References and Set a License.

The ILMDSKernel2::UnlockModule mechanism is still supported in v21.

Examples of Locked Features

• Playback, capture or conversion of any supported media format.

• MPEG-4, AAC Compression support.

• MPEG-4, H264, MPEG-2 Decompression support.

To use locked features you must

• Apply the steps in Obtain Evaluation or Deployment Licensing.

• When you receive the instructions and the key(s) call the ILMDSKernel2::UnlockModule DSKernel2.dll function with the appropriate key to unlock special features for the Media Foundation toolkit (API and .NET).
