GS1 Databar, formerly known as Reduced Space Symbology (RSS), is a large family of barcodes that encode a GTIN-12 or GTIN-13 data structure within a 14-digit barcode. The various GS1 Databar symbols have specific features that allow them to be read by different types of scanners. They are used in a variety of industries, including retail point-of-sale applications, inventory tracking, and healthcare.

GS1 Databar Truncated has the same data characteristics as the GS1 Databar barcode, except the bar height is set to the GS1 Databar standard of 13 times the X dimension.
