LEAD VP9 Encoder User Interface

The LEAD VP9 Encoder / Decoder is a DirectShow filter for compressing video data using the VP9 standard. VP9 compressed video data can be stored inside MKV or WebM container files with the option of saving the file with or without the audio data.

LEAD's VP9 video codec is a multimedia compressor / decompressor that registers into the Windows collection of multimedia drivers and integrates with any application using DirectShow®.

Options for the LEAD VP9 Encoder can be set manually through the encoder property page, which is shown in the figure below:

Changes will be applied only when the filter's state is stopped (ltmmConvert_State_Stopped), and can be set permanently by selecting Apply or OK. To abandon changes select Cancel. Positioning the mouse pointer over a control displays general information for that control.

The following table shows the controls and their descriptions:

Control Description
Quality Driven radio button Select this button when you want the output file to be a certain quality.
Quality driven compressing mode means the encoder will use variable bit rate (VBR) to match a specified quality level
Quality slider Select a quality level ranging from 1 (minimum quality, smaller output size) to 100 (maximum quality, larger output size).
Bit Rate Driven radio button Select the Bitrate radio button when you want the file to have a certain bitrate.
Bit Rate driven compressing mode means the encoder will use constant bit rate (CBR) for encoding
Bit rate edit box Enter the desired bitrate (in kbits/second).
