Determines if the beginning of this sample is a synchronization point.

Parameters

IltmmMediaSampleDisp *pMediaSampleDisp

Pointer to an IltmmMediaSampleDisp interface.

VARIANT_BOOL *pVal

Pointer to a variable to be updated with a value that indicates whether the beginning of the sample is a synchronization point. Possible values are:

Value Meaning
VARIANT_TRUE The beginning of the sample is a synchronization point.
VARIANT_FALSE The beginning of the sample is not a synchronization point.

Returns

Value Meaning
S_OK The function was successful.
<> S_OK An error occurred. Refer to the Error Codes or the HRESULT error codes in the DirectShow documentation.

Comments

A stream can begin at any synchronization point. With some compression types, streaming can begin only at certain points in the stream; for example, on key frames.
