IltmmTargetFormat *Format;	pointer to an interface
BSTR *pVal;	pointer to a string

Retrieves the recommended video compressor for the currently selected target format .

Parameter	Description
Format	Pointer to an IltmmTargetFormat interface.
pVal	Pointer to a variable that will receive the name of the recommended video compressor for the currently selected target format.

Returns

S_OK	The function was successful.
<> S_OK	An error occurred. Refer to the Error Codes or the HRESULT error codes in the DirectShow documentation.

Comments

Currently, the toolkit does not recommend compressors for all formats, so if the returned string is empty, then there is no recommended video compressor for the selected target format.

If the method succeeds, the caller must free the returned BSTR by calling the SysFreeString function.
