long *pVal;	pointer to a variable

Retrieves a value that indicates if the specified compressor is valid for the currently selected target format in the capture or convert parent object.

Parameter	Description
pTargetFormat	Pointer to an IltmmTargetFormat interface.
Name	String that contains the name of the compressor for which to test the validity.
pVal	Pointer to a variable to be updated with a value that indicates if the specified compressor is valid for the currently selected target format in the capture or convert parent object. For a list of possible values, refer to ltmmTargetFormat_Compressor constants.

Returns

S_OK	The function was successful.
<> S_OK	An error occurred. Refer to the Error Codes or the HRESULT error codes in the DirectShow documentation.
