Version 6.2 of the LEADTOOLS C API has changed from version 5.2 as follows:
New functions let you select and manipulate a region within a bitmap.
New functions let you create and manipulate annotations that you can overlay on an image. This feature is available in Express editions.
The toolkit has been subdivided into a several need-specific DLLs that let you limit the size of your application by including only the applicable DLLs.
The toolkit now fully supports the development of multi-threaded applications for Windows NT and Windows 95.
The toolkit can now read Progressive JPEG, and it can read and write Windows BMP files in all possible color resolutions.
The LEAD 1-bit format has been improved.
New functions let you load a bitmap from your own buffer so that it is easier to handle transmitted images, such as those received through the Internet.
New functions let you specify the DPI (dots per inch) resolution when loading a WMF file.
